You could always make a "Jacobs Ladder" with a
Neon transformer, and get smoke flares to emit
various colors of smoke at the seams....
That'll keep them wondering.
I need to do the same thing.
I managed to replace the tarp over the Cal 25...
but I draped it over the mast (the mast was
off the boat so we slid it on the trailer for
transport).
I made a cradle at the aft end of the boat so
that I can step through the motor cutout in
the transom and through the cradle structure
(It looks like a Bent for you civil engineers).
The mast rests on the cradle at the aft end and
on the deck at the bow. The tarp is draped over
it so there's a nice crowned roof shape to it.
Now I can ifnore it and get back to the SJ-24...
though I do want to inventory the Cal-25 so I can
decide what price to ask for it.
I'll be keeping the new looking spinnaker, and
probably will try to sell the nearly new jibs
and mainsail seperate from the boat (it came with
ten sails).
Now if the dang heat pump, truck, car, yard,
plumbing, and everything else would quit breaking
down or deteriorating I could do some work on the
boats.
