If you can crew aboard some other boats, you can see
some things that you do & don't like w/o drilling holes.

Also, by crewing on some of the really high-tech
boats you can get ideas that you can implement
or emulate on your boat... things you might not
typically see on a San Juan 24. You may have to
improvise a low tech solution to get something similar
to the more expensive ideas, but often the idea is
there to be adapted.

Crewing on a couple of SJ-24's would be a good way
to get a comparison of different rigs, both amongst
SJ-24's and in comparison to the hi-tech boats.

The Synergies I'm crewing on have given me some ideas
for rigging improvements... if I can ever get out
to my own boat to work on it!
